I saw the Spit vid released recently and it looked really nice. Is this that update?
I have BoS installed, if I let it update, does it update to this, or is there another client I need to download for version 2.xxx?

No, Spit has been available for a good while as bonus plane for Moscow. This latest update is a game engine update.
Spit is stunning in VR BTW. Although rear visabilty is a pain, really needs a mirror.

il2sturmovik.com/store/battle-of-kuban/That's quite pricey for a map update, or is there an upgrade path if you have one of the others? If you purchase this, do you get the planes from BoS...? Is it like RoF in that respect? Checking the forum to see if I can suss it. It all used to be so simple. 😆

The pack is standalone or combined (not sure what that means) and comes with two collector a/c. It looks like the planes in BoS would work, though I think most are incorporated. Not sure if I have that right?? Still pricey though. I may have to wait for a sale, having had my fingers burnt before.

It is a an addon to BoS or it can be run as a standalone.
Much like RoF the game download has everything, your account defines what is open to you.
The BoX series definitelyhas a more expensive pricing model than RoF did.

Wait for the sales. I bought BoM on sale for about £20. Can't remember what I paid for BoK, probably full price. I think I bought it on a whim one Friday night after a few shandys Not really explored the BoX series properly, mostly just doing quick missions, but want to start using it more seriously

Not really explored the BoX series properly, mostly just doing quick missions, but want to start using it more seriously Same here. After seeing how bad it was, before they removed the unlocks, it put me off. Its only VR that is pulling me back. Its still feels a bit "War Thunder", though that may be the menu graphics and way it displays the options for things. I'm not a three year old child, so let me configure exactly what I want.... I still don't have the feeling I can do much apart from the quick missions. The campaign was too dumbed down initially, so not sure how its gone since. Has Pat ported over his campaign generator, or is the stock one any good? I think another thing holding me back, is the state of the forum. I went over there and its a bunch of whining and noobs who don't seem to understand what a flight sim is. This was a few months ago, so it may have changed. All this additional faffage is what is holding me back from investing the time.

+1 on everything you just said
Pat has ported PWCG to BoS, so that's a bonus. I tend to stay away from the forum, it's fanboi central there. You say anything too negative, you get flamed then banned and thread is deleted.
In regard to settings I do agree, I want to see more options, however the presets do seem to work and the sim looks great when flying around. Plus VR is very well implemented.
